CONSOLIDATION INFORMATION

A Letter from Chief Montgomery

The past year has brought out the best in my employees. We have worked together in replacing equipment and apparatus, converted part time positions to full-time positions, increased safety, implemented new EMS patient transport services in cooperation with Johnson County Med-Act, improved training programs, improved fire prevention programs and provided quality public fire department safety services.

We welcome the New Year and the challenges before us. Our attention will be to maintain and improve all service programs. Training will continue to focus on professional development for all personnel with special attention to new trainee positions.

Fire prevention will continue to be a service that the business community looks upon favorably as a resource to protect their health and property.

Operations will strive to maximize additional staffing and new commitment to support and utilize volunteers. Administration will continue to provide the leadership and resources in meeting our Mission Statement.

"Committed to providing innovative professional service with the utmost consideration and safety of those we serve."

Acknowledgments: I would like to recognize the entire Merriam Fire Department organization for their effort and work throughout the year. I would also like to thank the Citizens, City Staff, and Elected Officials for their continued support and cooperation in the delivery of emergency services.

Sincerely,

Jerry Montgomery, Chief
Merriam Fire Department
