SHELTER INFORMATION Thousands of pets find their way into local animal shelters each year without any form of identification. Registering your pet in the City of Merriam is not only required by City Code, but will help ensure that your pet will be returned home. If your pet is found wearing a current City tag, every attempt will be made to contact you based upon the information provided during registration. If the animal is not registered, it is taken to Animal Haven and subject to an impound fee. If your pet becomes lost, you may file a lost pet report with Animal Control at (913) 322-5560. If an officer is not available please leave a message including your name, address, phone number and a description of the animal. Animal Haven is located in Merriam at 9800 W. 67th Street.
