		<description>The City of Merriam is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full time Firefighter Trainee. &amp;nbsp;Within 6 to 12 months from hire date, the trainee is eligible to advance to the Firefighter I position upon successfully passing department examinations and evaluations.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Essential Duties include: Protects life and property by performing fire fighting, emergency aid, hazardous&amp;nbsp;materials, and fire prevention duties. Maintains fire equipment, apparatus, and facilities. Work schedule is 24&amp;nbsp;hour shift work and on call for emergency alarms.&lt;br&gt;
