Merriam Farmers' Market Returns May 3rd

The Merriam Parks and Recreation Department Farmers' Market will open it’s doors for the 2008 season starting on Saturday, May 3rd, from 7am-1pm.  The first 200 patrons who visit the marketplace that day will receive a cloth Farmers’ Market tote bag to carry their produce and more.

Dive in to Summer Fun -
Merriam Aquatic Center Opens May 25th

Save the high cost of gasoline and spend your summer at Merriam Aquatic Center, 6040 Slater. Celebrate opening day on Sunday, May 25th with a free swim for Merriam and Johnson County residents (you must bring photo ID as proof of residency.) 

Beginning May 26 aquatic center daily fees for Merriam residents are $4.00 for youth 17 and under, and $4.50 for adults. Proof of Merriam residency (valid photo drivers license) must be shown to the aquatic center cashier.

The aquatic center features a 50 meter pool with 25 meter lap lane and three diving boards, a zero depth pool with play features and slides for young children, and two large water slides with separate splash down pool.  Plenty of shade and a full range of concessions are available.

Aquatic programs include Red Cross Learn to Swim lessons, Merriam Dolphins Swim and Dive Team, Aqua Aerobics and special events. You can even rent the aquatic center for after-hours private parties.
