Would you like an opportunity to effect future plans for outdoor recreation in the state of Kansas? If so, please take a few moments to complete a survey which is being administered on behalf of Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
Input from these surveys will assist outdoor recreation planners in developing strategies to address relevant issues facing outdoor recreation in Kansas over the next 5-10 years.

City Hosts 12th Annual Metro Visual Arts Competition

The Merriam Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to present the 12th Annual Metro Visual Arts Competition on display now at the Irene B. French Community Center Art Gallery. This year’s exhibit received 614 entries from 331 students representing 18 different high schools. The exhibit will feature 131 pieces to be on display at the Irene B. French Community Center through December 27th. The gallery is free to the public. The Irene B. French Community Center Art Gallery is located at 5701 Merriam Drive (just northwest of Johnson Drive and I-35 intersection). The exhibit will be on display through Saturday, December 27th, 2008. Regular Gallery hours are 9 AM - 9 PM, Monday-Thursday, Fridays & Saturdays from 9 AM - 3 PM, and Sundays from 2 - 4 PM. For more information regarding the exhibit, call the Irene B.
