30th Annual Merriam Turkey Creek Festival

Saturday, May 16th
Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch Rd.
10:00am-4:00pm

All activities (except 5K Run) take place at the beautiful, Antioch Park.
The day is filled with events for everyone to enjoy, most of the activities are FREE!   
    
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS 

  • Pancake Breakfast:  7:30 am - 11:30 am
        Sponsored by Merriam Lions Club (Shelter #1) - All you can eat pancakes, sausage, 
        coffee & juice.  Adults $5/Children 12 & under $3
  • Turkey Creek Festival 5K Run/Walk/Youth Sprint:  8:00 am
        Starts at the Irene B. French Community Center with chip timing, Finisher and place medals.  
        The run benefits the Merriam Parks, Recreation & Community Center Foundation Youth   
        Scholarship Fund.  To register contact Merriam Parks & Recreation Department at 913.322.5550 or 
        register online. Online registration is also available through KC Sport at www.sportkc.org

  • Arts & Crafts:  10:00 am - 4:00 pm
        Summertime Arts & Crafts (Antioch Park) - Artisans will be selling their handmade arts & crafts.

  • Kid Zone:  10:00 am - 4:00 pm
    Inflatable games, A-Z Petting Zoo, Train rides, Roving Puppets by StoneLion Puppets, pedal boat rides, wood project by Home Depot-Merriam, DJ the Balloon Man, and much more!
  • FREE CONCERTS!
        Main Stage:       10:30am - 1:00pm       -    "Southern Vixen (Country Variety)
        Main Stage:       1:45pm - 4:00pm         -    "Twice on Sunday (Pop, Hip Hop, 80's)

Parking:
Limited parking is available in the south lot at Antioch Park.  FREE shuttle buses from Lee Apparel parking lot, 9001 W. 67th Street, every 10 minutes.  Buses will drop festival goers off at the front entrance of Antioch Park with courtesy carts taking you from the entrance to the festival area.

Volunteers:
    We always need volunteers to help in these areas:
    Merriam Parks and Recreation information booth
    Golf cart drivers
    Wood projects with children
    5K Run volunteers
