Vine-ripened tomatoes, "just-picked" juicy melons, flowering baskets, herbs, annuals and perennials, home-baked cookies and breads, and hand-crafted artwork. You'll find all these and more from the vendors at the Farmers' Market at Merriam Marketplace every Saturday, the first week of May through the second week of October.
Why shop the Farmers' Market? The fruits and vegetables are grown locally and picked when perfectly ripened. This enhances the taste, texture and aroma. Often, market prices are lower than grocery stores. By supporting local farmers you help stimulate local economy and save energy resources!
The Marketplace is an award-winning, community event pavilion located at 5740 Merriam Drive, in the heart of the downtown Merriam historic district. Plenty of paved parking, restrooms, drinking fountain, and park benches are provided for your shopping convenience. Meet your friends and neighbors, visit and shop, then take home fresh produce for Saturday night dinner!
Entertainment or educational programs are scheduled each market day at 10:00am. The Merriam Marketplace schedules live entertainment throughout the season. If you are interested in participating in the Marketplace entertainment, becoming a vendor, or would like to be placed on our mailing list, call Dave Smothers at (913) 322-5550 or email daves@merriam.org.
