Heartland Art Guild

In 1992 a group of artists and art lovers founded The Paola Art League and established bylaws with the intention of promoting the visual arts and artists in Miami County. The name change to Heartland Art Guild in 1997 occurred with the purpose of encouraging memberships and interest from a larger area outside of Paola and Miami County.

Heartland Art Guild Activities

Monthly business meetings are held the 3rd Saturday at 10 AM, usually in the Paola Free Library. Members are encouraged to bring artwork to share with the group after each meeting. A $750 visual arts scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating High School Senior. Guild members can participate in planned exhibits, workshops and plein-air events, display at scheduled local businesses, enter the Guild’s annual Peoples Choice Show and show artwork at community events together. In July the art guild presents a miniature paintings art show at the Miami County Historical Museum in Paola. It includes over 200 beautiful paintings from all over the United States and other countries.

The Heartland Art Guild is a member of the Paola, Kansas Chamber of Commerce, the Miami County Historical Museum and is on Facebook. Membership dues are $15 annually
