The City of Merriam is offering large-item pickup on Oct. 15-19 for Merriam residents to dispose of items such as furniture, appliances, and rugs. Please place items curbside before 7 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day (see map below). Public Works crews will start south on 75th St. and will work their way north to 47th St. throughout the week.
Please call Public Works at 913-322-5570 if you have any questions.
The City also is partnering with Benjamin Lawn and Landscape to offer a group rate for residential curbside leaf removal in our neighborhoods. This is a voluntary program with two pickup options.
The first curbside leaf pickup date is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30. The second date is Dec. 4. The cost for this program is $70 for both pickup dates, or you may purchase separately. Residents taking part of curbside leaf removal should rake their leaves into a long and narrow pile along the curb by 8 a.m. on the pickup dates. Crews will vacuum the row of leaves up to six feet into your yard. Please remove rocks, sticks, trash, and other debris. Please also move your vehicles away from the leaf pile on collection day.
Visit BenjaminLawn.com to sign up for this optional program or call 913-499-6013 for more information.
