The City of Merriam is seeking a facilitator to assist the committee tasked with determining the future of the existing Irene B. French Community Center and the property it’s located on – 5701 Merriam Drive. Once selected, the facilitator will help lead the committee through a process to determine the property’s most reasonable, highest and best use, and make a recommendation to the City Council that includes an implementation plan and funding strategy.
“At this time, the City is not committed to any particular outcome for the building and the site, and there are a number of options to explore. A facilitator will help the committee work through this process, and put together a final recommendation to the City Council that can serve as a roadmap to ensure the location remains a community asset for future generations,” Chris Engel, City Administrator, said.
The request for proposals seeking interested firms was released today and is available on the City’s website. Proposals are due by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23. More information about the Future of 5701 Merriam Drive project is also available at merriam.org/5701.
