Get involved in the City of Merriam and serve as a representative on the City’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The Ward 1 candidate needs a passion for parks and our community.
Board members guide City staff on existing parks and recreation programs and recommend action on various policies for the City Council to consider.
The representative must live in Ward 1, which is located mainly north of 53rd St.
The Board is comprised of one representative from each of the City’s four wards, three at-large positions, and one youth representative. Members meet the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Irene B. French Community Center.
You can submit an online application or fill out a form at City Hall. The seat will remain open until Mayor Ken Sissom makes a formal recommendation to the City Council for approval.
