Residents are encouraged to do as much City business on our website or by phone at 913-322-5500.

“We are concerned with the health of our residents and staff and believe these are the necessary steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19,” Merriam City Administrator Chris Engel said. “We encourage everyone to wash their hands often and stay home if they are sick.”

Engel said all City staff who have a fever, cough, or may have come into contact with someone with COVID-19 will follow CDC guidelines, including staying home, following reporting procedures, and not reporting to work until symptoms have subsided or they are cleared by a health professional.

The City continues to work closely with Johnson County and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to monitor COVID-19 in our area.
