This is an exciting time to join Team Merriam! The City of Merriam Parks & Recreation Department is currently seeking a qualified part-time program assistant that will average 19 hours/week. The qualified applicant will be responsible for assistance in planning and preparing various recreational programs and special events. The candidate will also coordinate the social media marketing campaign for the Parks Department. The qualified applicant must have flexibility in schedule to include nights and weekends, be creative, dependable, customer service skills, enjoy working with a variety of populations, and possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• High School or GED equivalent. Prefer an associate’s degree with emphasis in recreation, social services, or gerontology;
• Prior program leadership or organizational experience in planning, marketing or facilitating leisure programming;
• Valid Driver’s License.
