Merriam police officers worked more than 60 hours of overtime during the two-week Click It or Ticket campaign. During this time, officers pulled-over 105 vehicles and wrote 82 tickets for seat belt violations.

Merriam police officers wrote a ticket if they saw anyone in a vehicle not wearing a seatbelt. The goal is to reduce the number of preventable deaths.

The statewide program ran from May 22 through June 4. The next Kansas enforcement campaign starts in August and focuses on drunk driving and drug impairment while driving.
