It’s never OK to drink and drive or to be under the influence of drugs. To help stop impaired drivers, Merriam police officers are participating in the statewide You Drink. You Drive. You Lose campaign.

Between Saturday, Aug. 20 and Labor Day, officers will look for impaired drivers with a goal of saving lives. Officers said drunk drivers are usually:

  • weaving
  • changing speeds
  • making unsafe lane changes.

The annual campaign is sponsored by the Kansas Department of Transportation and aims to remove drunk and drug impaired drivers from Kansas roadways.
