Hundreds of local high school artists submitted work to compete in the 2022 High School Visual Art Competition.
City staff received 777 entries from 471 students. Artists could submit up to three pieces of artwork in mediums of 2D, 3D, computer-generated, and photography.
Of those entries, 104 works of art from 86 students were selected for the art show. They represented 23 high schools within the Kansas City metro region.
The 2022 award winners were announced Dec. 1 at the show’s opening reception at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery.
The High School Visual Art Competition was created to showcase the talent of area students in the metro area.
