Random Acts of Kindness

Be more happy, healthy, and productive as you spread kindness within the community, with colleagues, and with yourself. It has proven positive physical and mental effects on the human body. Merriam is partnering with SevenDays® to make an impact across our City.

Here's how you can spread kindness in Merriam:

Love: Stop by the Merriam Community Center write a note expressing your appreciation to someone you care about. We'll have free kindness-themed notecards available in the lobby.

Discover: Broaden your worldview by learning about Merriam's past. Find historic sites, see photos, read narratives, or listen to audio clips – all on the Otocast app.

Others: Do a favor for your neighbor! Spring is the perfect time to emerge outdoors as our yards wake up and gardens need planting. Help each other out and build neighborly connections.

Connect: On Friday, April 12, Merriam residents can enjoy free admission to the MCC! Come connect with your community in a new way.

You: Treat yourself! Do something that makes you happy. Taking care of yourself allows you to take greater care of others. Sign up for a class at the MCC to nourish your mind and body.

Go: Get outside and volunteer for our Turkey Creek Streamway Trail cleanup on April 22! Volunteers will meet at 2 p.m. to start the cleanup. Email Ingrid to sign up.

Onward: Commit to making kindness a regular routine. SevenDays® has many ideas for actions that make ripples of kindness in the world. You can also learn more by participating in the SevenDays® Community Kindness Festival on Sunday, April 14.
