The Finance Department is responsible for the administration and coordination of the City's financial services. This includes budget, accounting, investments, payroll, debt service, financial information systems, and internal auditing.

2025 Merriam Property Tax Rate Change

Have questions about property tax changes? An error resulted in a significantly lower City property tax rate for 2024. The City will need to correct the error in 2025 and increase the property tax rate so the City can continue to provide a high level of service to our residents and businesses. Annual Comprehensive Financial Report

Each year, the Finance department prepares a formal Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, which is audited by an independent auditing firm. The report includes the independent auditors’ report, management’s discussion and analysis, and financial statements.

Merriam has earned a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting for this report from the Government Finance Officers Association for 30 years.
