Community Video Partnership

Do you have security cameras that view public area in the city (sidewalks, streets, parking lots, etc.)? Do you want to help the police catch criminals and keep Merriam safe? 

Video cameras are one of the best methods for catching criminals in the act. The Community Video Partnership Program invites residents and businesses to work with Merriam Police to create a list of active security cameras across the City.

How to Participate

Step 1.Understand the guidelines and privacy concerns

  • There’s no fee to take part. This is a voluntary program.
  • This program isn’t intended for active surveillance by police.
  • We store the information in a secure database, and we won’t have direct access to your private video system.

Step 2.Gather your information

  • Number of cameras
  • Description of the locations
  • Camera quality
  • Retention period

  • One of our officers will follow up with you and look at where your cameras face for optimal coverage.
  • We’ll provide you with a Community Video Partnership Program window cling that you may place on your home or business windows to help deter criminal activity.
