Merriam residents may drop off tree limbs from the recent storm at Merriam Public Works from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Proof of residency required.
The Kansas City Plogtober Cleanup is a great way to get outdoors and get some exercise while engaging in a socially responsible activity that beautifies the stream side trails in your community! Trash that ends up on the ground (including discarded PPE from the pandemic) ends up in our water systems– polluting ecosystems and killing vital organisms!
Plogtober 2023 will pit each county (and the Kansas City urban core) against each other to see who can get the best turnout of joggers picking up trash!
Six counties, 20+ cleanup sites, 31 days of fresh air!
Plogtober 2023 will take place in October across dozens of parks around the Kansas City region.
Sign-ups are NOW OPEN for one of our pre-arranged cleanup sites, or you can submit your own team (or fly solo) to pick up litter on your own block!
