Key Project Information

  • Curbs: When the curbs are being taken out or new ones are being poured, you will need to park on the other side of the street until the concrete hardens.
  • Streets: Once the contractor removes the old street pavement, a temporary surface will be put down so cars can drive through. You won’t be able to drive on the street until the temporary surface is in place. This work should be finished during normal work hours. If you need special help getting to or from your property during this time, please contact the City.
  • Driveways: This project might include removing and replacing the entrance of your driveway. The amount that needs to be removed will be different for each property and depends on the slope of your current driveway. You will get a notice at least 48 hours before your driveway is removed. After the entrance is taken out, the contractor will put down a temporary surface so you can access your home and have a place to park. Once the new concrete is poured, you will need to park on the street for about seven days while the concrete hardens.
  • Grass: All disturbed areas will be replaced with sod, and the contractor is required to water for 20 days after sod installation. After 20 days, City staff will inspect and accept the sod if it’s growing and the roots are in place. Once the sod is accepted, the property owner will be responsible for future maintenance.
  • Irrigation: If you have sprinkler system water lines within the right-of-way, please mark where they are once the contractor begins work near your home. The contractor will repair the irrigation that has been disturbed due to construction.

Schedule and Updates

Work will progress through the neighborhood in phases.

Spring 2026: Prior to street reconstruction, WaterOne replaced an aging water main and Kansas Gas is relocating service lines. Sod and concrete reconstruction from this work is expected in April.

June: Construction begins. The contractor will put a notice on your front door at least 48 hours before any work is done in front of your home on the street, curbs, or driveways.
