The City of Merriam has launched a new online engagement tool as part of the Downtown Merriam Master Plan process, giving residents, business owners, property owners, and visitors an opportunity to help shape the future of Downtown Merriam.
The online engagement tool is open through June 19, 2026, and is designed to gather community input during the Vision and Guiding Principles phase of the project.
The engagement tool includes:
- An interactive map where users can identify favorite places, problem areas, opportunities, and missing amenities
- A visual preference survey featuring image comparisons related to streetscapes, public spaces, housing, walkability, and downtown character
- A quick poll focused on priorities such as housing, flood resilience, economic development, walkability, and community identity
Community input collected through the tool will help inform the Downtown Vision Statement, Guiding Principles, future public workshops, and the final Downtown Master Plan anticipated for adoption later this year.
The Downtown Merriam Master Plan is the City’s first comprehensive downtown planning effort in a generation and will guide future investment, redevelopment, connectivity, placemaking, and public space improvements.
The engagement tool is available now at merriam.org/downtownplan.
