Congratulations to Master Police Officer Chris Meyers for being named the 2023 Merriam Police Department Officer of the Year!

Meyers received this peer-nominated award for going above and beyond to serve his community and police family.

As a 9-year veteran with the department, his peers call him steady, reliable, and dependable.

Meyers is an instructor in firearms, emergency vehicle operations, and stop sticks. He’s also the lead drone pilot, police training officer, and communications liaison for the department’s radio system.

His peers say Meyers consistently demonstrates the police department’s core values of courage, sacrifice, and compassion.

Before serving Merriam residents, Meyers was a graphic designer for five years. He made a career change so he could “really make a difference.”

“I’m very honored to receive this award,” Meyers said. “I’m looking forward to the future at the Merriam Police Department because I love my fellow officers, and I love serving my community.”

We thank him for his many dedicated years of service in the Merriam Police Department.
