Arrive safely to and from your Thanksgiving destination!
That’s what Merriam police officers are stressing as they begin the annual statewide campaign, “Thanksgiving Safe Arrival.”
Starting Thursday, Nov. 21, through Dec. 1, more Merriam officers will be on the road enforcing traffic laws. Their top priority is making sure drivers and their passengers are wearing their seatbelts.
“We’re highlighting that community members should buckle up every time they enter their vehicles,” Maj. Chris Brokaw said. “We want everyone to go home safely to their loved ones.”
The Kansas Department of Transportation provided a grant to sponsor the campaign.
