Help us save the monarch butterfly population! We’re giving away milkweed seeds for you to plant in your yards.
It’s part of the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge through the National Wildlife Federation.
Mayor Bob Pape issued a proclamation at the April 10 City Council meeting to highlight the plight of the monarchs and how we can help them with milkweed seeds.
Milkweed is the monarch butterfly’s favorite plant to eat and where they prefer to lay their eggs.
Pick up your free seed packet and informational brochure at City Hall and the Merriam Community Center, while supplies last.
