Merriam Police Department Earns State Accreditation

The Merriam Police Department is now officially accredited through the Kansas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (KLEAP), becoming only the seventh police department in Kansas to achieve this designation. This accreditation highlights the department’s ongoing commitment to professional standards and best practices in modern law enforcement.

KLEP accreditation involves a comprehensive review of department policies, procedures, and day‑to‑day operations. Agencies must demonstrate compliance with a series of established standards designed to enhance accountability, transparency, and service delivery across the state.
