With 15 years of service on Merriam’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Kathy Stull was recently honored with a state award.

Stull received the Distinguished Board Member Award from the Kansas Recreation and Park Association at its annual conference.

The award recognizes a board or commission member who advises parks and recreation agencies across Kansas.

Stull has served as a member of Merriam’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board since 2009 and has volunteered at countless special events throughout her years as an advisory board member.

Merriam Parks and Recreation Director Anna Slocum nominated Stull for the award and said she’s excited the state association honored Stull for her service.

“It’s been extremely rewarding to work alongside Kathy in completing many projects and programs,” Slocum said. “Her passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Merriam residents is inspiring.”

Congratulations, Kathy! Thank you for your dedicated service in making Merriam Just Right!
