75th Street Closure Underway for Bridge Rehab Project

Drivers in Merriam and Overland Park should be prepared for changes along 75th Street as a major bridge rehabilitation project gets moving. A section of 75th Street is now closed through June 5.

Here’s what to know:

• Closed: 75th Street between Wedd Street and the I‑35 ramps

• Open: The I‑35 bridge and all three entrance/exit ramps remain accessible

Detours will be clearly marked. Through traffic on 75th Street will be directed to Antioch, then Shawnee Mission Parkway, and onto Quivira.

The project is expected to improve long‑term safety and extend the life of the bridge. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs throughout the construction period.
