The Merriam Police Department has launched a new official Facebook page to better connect with the community and keep residents informed.
The page, managed by the City’s communications team and department command staff, will serve as the primary social media channel for official police updates. Residents can expect to find community news, safety tips, traffic alerts, event details, and highlights of the daily work officers do to keep Merriam safe.
“This page is an important tool for sharing timely information and building stronger connections with the people we serve,” said Chief of Police Darren McLaughlin. “We encourage everyone in the community to follow us and stay engaged.”
Followers will also see posts about upcoming outreach programs and events, giving residents more opportunities to interact directly with officers outside of emergency situations.
The Merriam Police Department reminds the public that this is the only official Facebook page operated by the department.
