Why Did You Join City Council?
I decided to run for City Council because I was about to retire from my career at Hallmark and was looking for something interesting to do. Being on the council has certainly been interesting. Along the way, I have realized that good city government doesn’t just happen. It takes a lot of work by a lot of people, and I am proud to be part of it.
What Are Your Goals for the City?
My goal for the City is to maintain the high quality of life that Merriam residents enjoy; that Merriam remains a place where people want to live.
Tell Us an Interesting Fact About Yourself.
I love to go hiking and backpacking. I have hiked just about every trail in Rockie Mountain National Park, including Longs Peak, to the bottom of Grand Canyon and back, the Rim Trail in Zion National Park, Pictured Rocks along the Lakeshore North Country Trail in Upper Michigan, and the northern shore of Lake Superior in Batchawana Bay Provincial Park in Canada.
