All businesses and residents need to register their new or existing alarm systems within the City. Our police and fire departments will use this information to know where things are on your property.
There's no fee to register your alarm system. Once registered, you'll receive a certificate.
This ordinance passed in 1994 to help with the high number of false alarms for police or fire response. False alarms usually happen due to computer, installation, or human error.
There are no fines for the first three false alarms per calendar year. The next three false alarms - during the same calendar year - will have a $50 fee each for the next three false alarms, $100 for the following three, and $150 for each alarm thereafter.
