Twice each year, City of Merriam staff picks up large items, such as furniture, appliances, carpets/rugs, and miscellaneous items across the City.
The Merriam Public Works Department provides this service during the third full weeks of April and October. Residents should place their items curbside before 7 a.m. on their scheduled pickup day. Our Public Works crews start on 75th St. and head north. Please note that crews may come to your home early. They’ll come back through your neighborhood on your designated day to finish picking up items.
Please wait until the weekend of April 18 before placing items on the curb.

Many items can be donated or recycled by different providers in the Kansas City area. Find where to take items at RecycleSpot.org.
