Position Summary
The City of Merriam Police Department is seeking a full-time Community Service Officer. This position is responsible for upholding the City of Merriam’s mission by supporting police department personnel and lending assistance to the public by providing a variety of services using the highest level of ethical standards, compassion, and integrity.

Typical Duties
Typical duties include communicating with the public in a professional and courteous manner, acting as Municipal Court bailiff, maintaining and cataloging recovered property accurately, report writing, operating a patrol vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions, exercising independent judgement, and animal control responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record;
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent;
- Must be a U.S. Citizen;
- Must submit to fingerprinting
- Must be able to work various hours with a 24/7/365 operational period;
- Must have an acceptable background.
