How to apply to host a birthday party at the Merriam Community Center:

Application and Payment Process

Step 1.Review Party Rules:

  1. Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled party time and report to the Welcome Desk at the Merriam Community Center.
  2. All members of the party should arrive at the same time.
  3. A wristband will be provided for each guest, including adults staying for the party.
  4. A cart will be provided to store party room supplies/gifts until 15 minutes prior to the designated party room time.
  5. A staff member will escort party attendees to the pool deck.
  6. A day pass must be purchased to access other areas of the facility.
  7. Children under the age of 5 must have a parent or guardian with them in the water at all time.
  8. Children are required to be at least 48" tall to use the indoor flume slide.
  9. Maximum height for indoor family slide is 48".
  10. Contracted entertainment is prohibited.  

Step 2.Review Party Reservation Requirements:

Prior to submitting your application, please ensure you have reviewed the reservation requirements:

  1. Birthday Party packages are available weekends beginning on Friday evening.
  2. Party size is the maximum attendance, including all adults.
  3. Cancellations must be made in writing at least 31 days prior to the party to receive a refund less $10 processing fee.
  4. Parties can be rescheduled up to 3 days prior to the event date, pending availability.
  5. All parties canceled by the City of Merriam for any reason beyond control may be rescheduled.  A refund will be issued if no reschedule date is available.

Step 3.Submit party application:

  1. Reservations must be made at least one week and not more than  2 months prior to the event.
  2. Parties are available on a first-come first-served basis and are paid in full at the time of reservation.

Step 4.Wait for communication

  1. Please allow one (1) business day for Merriam Parks and Recreation staff to confirm receipt of your application.
  2. Upon receipt of application staff will confirm party availability and call to collect credit card payment. 
  3. After payment is successfully processed, staff will email you a paid receipt with party details which serves as confirmation that the event is reserved.

The Merriam Community Center wants all patrons to have a great time when they visit the pool.  The rules are not all inclusive but are intended to provide patrons with a general understanding of what to expect when visiting the center. 

  1. Shower before you enter the pool.
  2. Proper swimsuit attire is required.
  3. Swimsuits with metal or plastic zippers, buckles, rivets, buttons, or metal/plastic ornamentation are not allowed on slides.
  4. Unites States Coast Guard approved life jackets are allowed. No floaties, inner tubes or rafts.
  5. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed at any time.
  6. Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  7. Children 4 and under must have an adult in the water with them at all times.
  8. There will be an ADULT ONLY swim announced the last 10 minutes of every hour.  Children must vacate the pool during these 10 minutes.
