Meeting Room Rental Rates

Rental rates for rooms are per hour.  Rental times should include personal set-up and clean up times.

Rentals spending $2,100–$3,000: 10% off
Rentals spending $3,001–$5,000: 20% off
Rentals spending $5,001+:$1,500 off maximum

The fee for these items are for the entirety of the rental.

Half capacity in the gymnasium is 40 people. Whole capacity is 80 people.  

*Only available for rent after close of facility. Additional staffing charges apply for gymnasium.

Host the best party ever at the Merriam Community Center!

• Party packages at the Merriam Community Center are 2½ hours long.
• Groups may enjoy the pool for 1½ hours before their party room reservation.
• Each party will be assigned an attendant and have access to the locker room.
• A cart to transport party items in and out of the building is provided.
• Streamers, banners, and confetti are not allowed in the party rooms or pool area.

• Any food/drink brought into the facility must remain in the party room area. 

Guests may bring:

• Refreshments, including ice cream and cake.
• Party decorations, including balloons, table decorations, party hats, and favors.

Swimmers must bring their own towel.

Shelter Rental Reservations

 These facilities are perfect for family reunions, birthday parties, graduation parties or other gatherings. Shelters are located at Brown Park or Chatlain Park and feature: 

• Lighted shelter
•  7 picnic tables, seating for 56 people (One handicapped accessible)
• 1 large charcoal grill
• Drinking fountain with waterspout
• 3 trash receptacles & 1 recycle container
• Two electrical outlets
• Limited adjacent parking

Park Amenities include:

• Water fountain with dog basin (handicapped accessible)
• Playground equipment (Age group 5-12 year old)
• Portable toilet
• Open play area
• Paved walking path (Brown Park)
• Basketball and pickleball courts (Brown Park)
• Access to Turkey Creek Streamway Trail (Chatlain Park)

Rental season is April to October

Reservation Hours:

Half day: 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Full day 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.

*Applicant must furnish proof of residency

Special Event Permit Fee: $50.00 per day in addition to rental fee - Applies to individuals or organizations who wish to sponsor community, corporate or private special events.

No reservations will be accepted that conflict with Merriam Farmers’ Market season hours or City of Merriam, Kansas sponsored events.

All fees are due at the time of rental reservation.

Reservations must be made by persons at least 21 years of age.

Begin the Park Shelter Reservation Process

This facility is perfect for corporate picnics, family reunions, and other gatherings. Amenities include a bridge to the the Turkey Creek Streamway Trail, electrical hookups, and restroom facilities.  Tables and chairs are not provided.   

Reservations may be made up to one year in advance and shall be on a first come first served basis.

Request for a year in advance will be accepted on the first working day of the month.

Reservation Hours:

Full day 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Security Deposit: Reservations must be accompanied by a $150 refundable damage/security deposit. If facility is left clean, undamaged, and user does not exceed approved time or conduct activities which have not been previously approved, the deposit will be returned within 10 business days following the rental date. In the event that damage to the facility should exceed the deposit amount, additional charges will be assessed by the city.

Located within Waterfall Park at 5191 Merriam Drive, there are two practice fields easily accessible from I-35.  In addition to the fields, there is ample parking, playground with swings, access to the Turkey Creek Streamway Trail, portable restroom facility and access to a drinking fountain.

Field size is 50 x 40 yards perfect for U10 / U12 practice.  

Fields are unlined; goals with nets are provided.  Please do not move the goals.

Reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance up to one year in advance by a person 18 years of age or older who will sign permit assuming responsibility of the group.   

Rentals cancelled by Parks and Recreation Department due to bad weather / field conditions may be rescheduled.

 Resident Rate: $12 /hour

Non-Resident Rate: $15 /hour
