Dance Fitness

Fitness Ju Jutsu

Learn Ju Jitsu basics while losing weight! This class gives you a full-body workout as you work on ground techniques, takedowns, control positions, and submissions. Taught by a 25-year martial arts veteran, the class is beginner-friendly and noncompetitive. The uniform (GI) costs $55 and will be paid to the instructor the first day of class. Aikido Yoshinkan - Traditional Martial Arts   

The Yoshinkan style of aikido is a dynamic system of throwing, joint-locking, striking, and pinning techniques. At its core, aikido is a self-defense martial art used by many law enforcement agencies across the world as an effective way to safely neutralize aggression. Classes are structured so beginning and advanced students alike will all have a fun and challenging experience. Instructors: Mick (6th Degree) / Rafael (2nd degree)

The Ki Society

You’re invited to have a new experience learning the five disciplines of the Ki Society (ki-breathing, ki-meditation, aikido, kiatsu, and bell meditation). These practices are fundamental to an awareness of our natural state of being. New students will receive 8 weeks of basic preparation during the first hour and are welcome to stay for the remainder of each class. Instructors: Vic (4th degree) / Derrick (1st degree)

Abby is a certified personal trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association. Abby was a college athlete. She wants to use her knowledge to teach people about the importance of health and wellness. Abby wants to motivate her clients to reach their fitness goals and achieve a higher quality of life. 

Matthew Muzacz

With over 20 years of experience, Matt focuses on functional fitness and loves mixing workouts to ensure your wellness journey is safe and fun. He has a holistic approach to wellness that brings the mind and body together to achieve your goals. Matt is a certified personal trainer, and he holds two degrees in exercise science and physical therapy. 

Phyllis Peterson

Energetic, fun, and knowledgeable, Phyllis can help you with your fitness quest!  With more than 30 years of experience, she specializes in core, strength, cardio training, weight management, and senior fitness.

Jessica Tollie

Jessica is National Academy of Sports Medicine corrective exercise specialist and certified trainer. She wants to help people reach their goals and improve the quality of their daily lives through education and functional movement exercises.

General Fitness Center Orientation

If you are new to the gym or interested in learning more about how to use the fitness equipment, we can help!  Ask any fitness attendant on duty how to safely and effectively use the strength and cardio machines.  FREE for members.


Fitness Program Consultation

Work with a fitness consultant to help establish a program based on your goals.  During this one-hour visit, a fitness professional will help you identify your fitness goals, formulate a plan, and walk you through the program to ensure you're comfortable with the routine.  Contact our fitness coordinator to schedule your session.

This easy-to-learn, eye-hand coordination game is growing rapidly in popularity.  With all equipment provided, the only thing you need is a partner and a positive attitude! KU Sensory Enhanced Aquatics 

This class provides swimming and water safety lessons for adults who are on the autism spectrum. Traditional learn-to-swim methods are combined with sensory strategies matched to the unique needs of each swimmer. Individual and small-group lessons are available. American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED Certification

Take a hands-on CPR and AED course covering adult, child, and infant CPR and emergency response skills. Designed for ages 15 and up, this class offers expert instruction and practice, ensuring you're ready for any emergency. Upon completion, you'll receive a two-year American Red Cross certification.
